Don't be embarrassed if you're not 100% sure what a royal flush in video poker is. I used to play video poker without knowing for sure what it is. But if you know what it is, then the next thing you need to know is how to get one, because it's worth 4000 coins with 5 coins in. In just a few steps, you can find out what is a royal flush in video poker and how to win it.

   Know what a royal flush is.
   
   A royal flush is the best hand in poker, including video poker. A royal flush hand is a 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace of all the same suit. It does not matter which suit it is as long as it's all the same suit. It does not matter in what order the cards come in. A royal flush of spades is just as good as one with all diamonds, clubs, or hearts.
   
   So how many different hands of royal flush are out there? There is four. One for each suit.

   Hold the right cards when dealt a hand in video poker.
   
   If you have any pairs in your initial hand, you should keep that pair, even if it is less than Jacks.
   
   If you have no pairs in your initial hand, you should keep cards of the same suit that are 10 or higher. For example, if your hand is Kh Js 10s 3d 2h, you should keep Js 10s to maximize your chances of getting a royal flush in video poker. I've hit a royal with from keeping just two cards before, so it pays to keep cards with the same suit.

   Throw away a flush and go for the royal.
   
   If your hand is Js, Qs, Ks, As, 8s, you should throw away the 8s and go for the royal. Mathematically, losing the flush when you have four to a royal is the right thing to do. On the other hand, if you have only three to a royal, you should probably keep the flush unless you feel very lucky.

   Play 10-play, 25-play, or 50-play video poker for an easier time of getting a royal flush in video poker.
   
   The strategy is the same, but the dealt cards are played 10, 25, or 50 times. Normally, gamblers only play 5 cent and 10 cent versions of this game. For example, a 50-play with 5 coins max per play costs $12.50 per wager at the 5 cent level. At 10 cents, it's $25.00 per wager. If it's a quarter, it's $62.50 per wager. If you play the $1 version, it's $250 per per wager. But the jackpot can be huge if you get dealt four of a kind or a royal. We can all dream. Good luck.
